On Thursday November 18th, Google visited us to host Android Developer Lab, one of several Android conferences arranged by the Google Technology User Group in Stockholm. We provided the venues and a light snack.
The anticipated launch of Android 2.3 did not happen since there are still touchups to be done, but there were good talks and workshops. The first talk from GTUG presented the author of many Android books about Android opportunity for developers and an overview of the Android market.
Participants spread out in breakout sessions on the topics “Getting started with Android”, “Android UI Elements”, “Resources for Android game development”, “Using intents and providers effectively” and “Cloud to devices messaging”. The conference wrapped up with a final talk about the future of the Android platform.
The turn-up was above expectation with about 220 Android developers filling the 11th floor of the Stockholm office. Overall, it was a greatly appreciated event by the participants, with interesting talks and workshops in great venues.
