Head of Poker grinds Pavoni

So this would be the first post of 2011. This year is definitely going to be very exciting for me on many levels and I have great expectations. First of all, I have a new position that I will (try to) deliver on. My responsibilities now include a lot of accountability for how our poker product is developing, how business is going and what we should prioritize doing. Wow. As “Head of Poker”, I have moved to Product Management and have daily meetings about backlogs, focus areas, external products, partner requests, profitability and business intelligence. More importantly, I will spend a great deal of time on product vision, product strategy and innovation. Being a poker player myself, I want to strengthen the focus of having fun when playing poker on the Ongame network. There is a lot to do, we have a lot of ideas and we need to get them on paper, in minds and in production.

I do not only have one (1) daily job these days. I have two since the arrival of my newest kitchen love, the La Pavoni. Anyone interested in coffee, authenticity and professionalism knows what I am talking about. Pulling a shot on the peacock is as far away as you come from Nespresso. This is art and the Pavoni will punish you over and over again. The attitude is very Italian, “I don’t care to explain anything, if you can’t handle it, it is not for you”. Ok. So, I am experimenting with water, grind size, bean types, pre-infusion length, tamper strength, lever-strengt and so on. Everything is a piece in the puzzle and if you’re not extremely devoted the result is crap. I must admit that I love the little fellow and everything he stands for.

I am looking forward to an exciting weekend this week. This afternoon I’ll be going to my favorite double-session at SATS (30+30) with some sauna afterwards. Post workout there is a dinner at my friend’s house. For Saturday I am meeting some friends to watch some football in the afternoon and attending a birthday drink in the evening. The plans for Sunday so far contain going to the movies to see “The Tourist”. Potentially crap from what I’ve heard but I need to spend some movie tickets before they expire..

Have a nice weekend and thanks for reading,
Fredrik
